Community, hard work & Respect.
My wife and I moved to Lumsden in 2017. While playing senior hockey in Lumsden and falling in love with the town and people, it wasn’t very difficult to convince a small-town girl to make the move from city life to rural life to start our family.
The first five years of our journey to begin our family did not go as planned. The dream of having our own little team quickly began to fade away. After hearing this news, Brittany and I jumped headfirst into the community and began to help where we could. This involved coaching Learn to Play Baseball, U11 LBMHA Hockey, participating on the Duck Derby Committee, creating the sports and toy exchange, town-wide registration night, and even the local Santa Clause, as well as, Cinderella when called upon.
After five years of living in limbo and with the help of science, our daughter Scout was born in Spring of 2021 which was the biggest gift of all.
Not long after, our son Fritz was born spontaneously in 2023, completing our chaotic dream team.
Although our story wasn’t what we had expected, we are thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow.
The core of Raised Athletics connects to what we believe in as a family: community, hard work, and respect. We promise to help raise the next well-rounded generation of athletes in Lumsden and the surrounding area from the ground, up.
